William had 183 acres of land on lots 4 A7 5, conc. 8. The thriving little settlement of Hadlington was nameed after Joseph Hadley who owned and operated a store, ran a sawmill and was postmaster.

This is a photo of William R Curry, camp cook and his wife Jessie Ellen (Barr),their daughter Ethel and their son Ronald. The mother and daughter on the left are Mrs McPhadden and her daughter Linetta. W R Curry and his wife were born in Irondale and moved to Tory Hill in 1904.Their family lived in Tory Hill for two years and then moved to Haliburton where he purchased a livery stable and lumbering business. This was later developed into an automobile dealership.
