Beloved husband of the late Elmona Collier (1969) and the late Ethel King (2001). Rufus was predeceased by his brothers Alfred, Lawrence, Clifton, Eldridge, sister Lyla and granddaughter Bonnie. Loving father of Lela McColl (Clayton), Barbara Shendelman, Art (Sue), Ron (Shannon), Joan Tretheway (John), Jim, Ivan (Joanne), Lorraine Vachon (Jay), Vernon (Anita). Loving stepfather of Morley (Marilyn), Murray (Gayle) and Tom (Marilyn) Watson, Darlene McDowell (David) and Karen Saltarelli (Rick). Survived by sister Gladys Watson, brother-in-laws Verdun Collier and Daniel King, sister-in-laws Merthalene Broughton and Ruth Young; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends across Canada. The family received friends at the HALIBURTON COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, Hwy. #118, Haliburton, Ontario (705) 457­9209 on Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service was in the Chapel on Friday morning, November 30, 2001 at 11 o'clock. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Haliburton. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Errinrung Palliative Care Program Thornbury, Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
